MISSION:  Provide a fair point of view on products and services, help small local businesses, show results, take action, and motivate.

I started iMarketPortal in the summer of 2008.  My theme or agenda had to do with Home Business reviews.  This is an extremely competitive topic online.  If you do any kind of search for those terms you will be flooded with results, many of which are designed to just take your money and run.

I put the site in place and created an SEO strategy.  I was informed gently by a professional SEO artist that my chances for seeing any kind of success with this site were slim to none.  It is mainly because of how competitive the keyword phrases are.

After 6 months, I just let the site sit idle with all of the content in place.  Amazingly, with applying all of the suggestions from my SEO mentors, I was able to see my site move from a PR0 to a PR1 in about a year.  While that still pretty much sucks I took several things from it.

1. It still counts as a success even if it is small.
2. Even with minimal SEO knowledge, I made progress.
3. Knowledge is power and building on that knowledge is priceless.

Now, iMarketPortal has a completely different look and is going in a completely different direction.  So, my measly little PR1 ranking is likely to disappear shortly because of starting over.   There is no sense in trying to draw blood out of a stone so I squashed the original site.

I think this is going to be a great place to post some of my positive ramblings.  I think it will also be a great place to compile all of the information and links to the many companies, products, services, and educational sources that have been helping me along the way.

Over time, visitors will be able to find my top recommendations for stuff from Anti-Virus software for your computer to self improvement for your noggin.
