I’m sure you’ve heard the expression “in the zone,” particularly as it applies to athletes or others who are unflappable as they eye the goal. Sometimes you can be in the zone regarding your success and nothing gets in your way; other times you can do everything right and find that whatever can go wrong, will. Here are 4 thoughts on building the habit of success and getting “in the zone.”
Thought #1:
Achieve Success by Expecting It
You must understand that the path from where you are to where you want to be is not always smooth or straight. When you hit those inevitable bumps in the road, your character, commitment, and attitude will help get you “in the zone” or at least, keep you there.
Thought #2:
Success Breeds Success
“Mo.” That shortened word of “mo” speaks of momentum—the ability to continually succeed and build on the past successes you’ve had. Most people understand that when they have one (big or small) success, it encourages them and makes them believe they can do anything. Salespeople know it, and they strive for it. When you’ve unlocked the key to your success (whatever that may be), you’ll find your “mo” and that nothing can get in your way.
Thought #3:
Choosing Success
We all understand that we can choose to be happy or miserable, and that our choices will affect our lives for the better or worse. When you opt to be happy, you choose to identify with the accomplishments in life that exude who you are and who you have striven to be. You can choose to look on the positive side, just as you can choose success. Remember, success is more than just wealth. Choose the positive side of things and you choose to remember and live your successes, not your failures.
Thought #4:
Experts Don’t Know Everything
If you have a plan that seems to go against all the conventional wisdom and yet you know in your soul that this WILL work, then follow your gut instincts. The “experts” are wrong all the time—from medical experts who predict incorrectly to future-trending experts who foretell the wrong trends and costs corporations millions. More than 100 years ago, someone wanted to close down the US Patent office because he thought everything that could be invented had been and that no one would need to patent anything else, ever. So don’t listen to the nay sayers and “experts”—sometimes they are dead wrong!
Now that you are in the zone, keep moving forward!

If You Choose to Believe in Yourself Then You Will Become That Self – A “Choose to Believe” Story
Posted by the Generator; Original article By Miles Milken
A number of years ago I saw a truly inspiring movie, “The Rookie,” based on a true story about Jimmy Morris, played by Dennis Quaid. If you haven’t seen it here’s the gist of why it’s so relevant to how choosing to believe in yourself will help you become that self.
All his life Morris wanted to play ball with a major league team. Finally, at an age when most people retire, he got his chance. Here’s the part that’s so inspiring. He didn’t believe he had it in him. The tryout coaches said he was throwing a 98-miles per hour fast ball.
He said, “No way, that can’t be!”
(Author’s note: I can’t tell you how many times I used the same phrase)
One of the coaches said they thought the same thing too. So they brought out three speed meters and all three read 98-miles per hour. Morris, still didn’t believe it. It took a bit of a lengthy conversation between the coach and Morris until finally it dawned on him, he really did do it. What is also important here is that he chose to believe he really did it.
That was the turning point for Morris.
He moved forward feeling supremely confident with himself because now he believed that he could become a major league pitcher. He started out with the minors and eventually went on to the majors. Because he chose to believe in himself, he became that self he believed in. Great story.
Choose to believe in yourself. It’s just that simple. There doesn’t need to be any discussion, debate, or doubt. Just believe in yourself, pure and simple.
Believe in what you can do…you can do.
Now here’s the amazing thing that you can start believing in right now. All this potential is already inside of you.
It’s hidden if you complain, or feed your brain with thoughts like, “No way! I can’t do that.”
First, you can start believing you have a “choice” of the kind of thoughts you want to think. Even when emotions are high, you always have a choice. Yes, I will admit, with high emotions that choice can be difficult, but you still have a choice.
I choose to believe in myself, and because of that, I will become what I’ve chosen to believe and can do.
What about you?
Dedicated to your uphill thoughts rising you to the top.

A positive thought worth sharing that came my way today…
I have always believed that success is when opportunity meets preparation. That’s why the effort we put forth today is not wasted, even if it seems to yield no immediate results. It’s part of the preparation stage that puts you at the door when opportunity knocks! It’s winners who see these opportunities, when losers see only problems. It’s winners who say, “I’ll find a way,” when losers say, “It can’t be done.”

Today I decided to move from the “S” quadrant to the “B” quadrant. You can find out what that means by reading Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki.
I am very passionate about the work I do as a PC Repair technician, a budding SEO artist, and website designer. But, the reality of my future non-funded retirement plan is looking down on me.
My current “secure” state job just demands more and pays less. It pays less by not just giving raises but by handing out pay cuts. I look around me at work and see so many people that seem to have no other choice but to take what they can get. What they get is a J.O.B. that is turning more and more into a volunteer position. The employer has these dedicated educators by the throat.
I refuse to remain in that situation. Not only do I refuse, but I am taking action to rise up out of it and move steadfastly forward. Today’s workshop could not have been timed better. For months I have been talking about writing a business plan. For months, I have been telling people that I hope to let go of that day job by the summer of 2010. And, for months, I have had this little voice in the back of my head asking, “Just how will you pull that off?”
Today, I learned how. I am going to invest in myself and my noggin. I am going to make a concrete plan and I am going to implement it. So watch out!!

iMarketPortal is moving away from Home Business Reviews towards offering resources and information that will be useful to anyone working any type of business that taps into the power of the web.
The truth remains that many sites and marketers online will boast of gaining sudden riches if you just buy into their turn-key system. This stuff just preys upon desperate people with great dreams of finally making something out of nothing. There is no substitute for hard work and persistence.
Anyone that has been around long enough in this world should know that knowledge is power. I am a firm believer that if you constantly build on knowledge and consistently apply it with a little creativity and hard work, you will reap great rewards. Nothing good ever happens overnight.
To me, the best type of start-up business requiring the least amount of up front cash is some sort of service oriented business. Why? Because you have spent a lifetime developing knowledge and perfecting something in a specific field. So, turn that knowledge and skill into a service that you provide for compensation. You might be surprised at how many people can benefit from what you have to offer.
How does a strapped for cash start-up business find these people that could be potential customers? The best method is “word-of-mouth” because when someone hears from a trusted friend or colleague that you are good at what you do, honest, trustworthy, and a person of your word, they are more inclined to contact you. It also helps to make your rates more then affordable initially until you build up that credibility. It is just like the fundamental rule of supply and demand in economics. As you bring on more and more customers, your skill level improves along with your reputation. After a while, you find yourself in a predicament where you don’t have enough time to serve all of your customers. So, your prices go up a little. This helps balance out the supply and demand of what you have to offer.
I started my PC Repair business with this same concept. I am very pleased with the direction it is going in. It reminds me of the old saying that “success is a journey not a destination”. While I am busting my tail, working hard from 5:00am until 11:00pm, it is rewarding because I am seeing positive results. I am being successful.
